On Saturday 24th November we had the pleasure of hosting the Cheshire winter wedding ceremony and celebration of Vicki and James marriage.
The perfect Cheshire winter wedding venue
Abbeywood was the perfect choice for them and it allowed them the flexibility to create their wedding their way with a stunning backdrop and setting every step of the way.
As you can see from the photos this wedding saw Abbeywood spaces utilised to the maximum with the wedding ceremony taking place in the barn and a wedding breakfast and evening reception in the Glasshouse.
Flexible spaces and accommodation for the bridal party
Vicki prepared in the Bridal Suite with her bridal party after staying the night prior in Woodside Cottage. James prepared in the Main House accommodation with his Groomsmen. The wedding ceremony took place in the barn at 2.00 pm in front of the roaring fireplace and the couple chose a string trio for the ceremony and reception music.
The couple decorated the ceremony space themselves with lights around the beams in the Barn, floral arrangements from an external florists, and then the addition of Abbeywood’s’ Christmas decorations.
Exquisite canapés and fizz
The reception period featured a selection of our yummy canapés: –
Sausages with honey and sesame seeds, Italian bruschetta and mini cottage pies
During this period the happy couple and the guests were able to enjoy the garden and the endless wedding photography opportunities on offer whilst enjoying a refreshing glass of Prosecco or a variety of soft drinks.
The couple and lots of their guests were also big fans of horse racing as they requested the TV be put on to watch the Betfair Chase at Haydock racecourse at 3pm after the ceremony. This added a really personal touch to the day that the guests really appreciated.
A sumptuous wedding breakfast
The couple were greeted into the Glasshouse to the Champions League music as the New Mr & Mrs Dean to rousing applause and fanfare. Their wedding breakfast featured: –
To start:
Shredded duck on red cabbage coleslaw with orange & watercress salad
A main course of:
Chargrilled breast of chicken with dauphinoise potatoes, creamed leeks, mashed caramelised carrots & chorizo crisps
For dessert:
Warm chocolate brownie served with vanilla ice cream, fresh fruit and chocolate sauce
The speeches after the meal from all of those who spoke were entrancing and entertaining and really gave a sense of what the joining of these two families meant to all those close to the couple.
An evening celebration to remember
The evening food consisted of a cheeseboard featuring mince pies to give proceedings a festive touch. It has been a pleasure reliving this unique Cheshire winter wedding day and exploring the photos and we wish this happy couple a long and happy married life together and also wish to thank Shane Webber Photography for sharing these beautiful images with us.
